'Nine' was created by Sol Bailey Barker during an artist residency at Al Vecchio Convento, Portico Di Romagna, Italy, for 'Portico In Arte' Festival 2014.
'Nine' is a piece inspired by the mythologies and landscape of Portico Di Romagna. Portico Di Romagna is famed for being the place where Dante Alighieri met Beatricia, sparking the inspiration for his Divine Comedy in, which he writes of the nine layers of heaven and the nine layers of the underworld.
